Papers are invited to the WCCI 2008 Special Session "Virtual Community in Computational Intelligence"

Deadline: December 1, 2007 + 2 weeks grace period

The session is to promote and outline ways and means to share computational resources and software tools of the field, and to share ideas on how to create a virtual computing infrastructure and organization of the CI. It will focus on virtual sharing of open source application-oriented tools and other resources by the community, but also on sharing such open source CI software with the general public. The session will also foster synergies and interactions between the CI researchers and other specialties in need of specialized CI tools.

Invited are concept or tutorial papers, as well as live or interactive software demonstrations, are solicited on the following aspects (but not limited to) of creating the virtual community in computational intelligence:

• organization and framework for virtual organization that enables CI software and resource sharing
• building and using interactive collaborative web sites
• CI data and software repositories
• CI programs, application tools, application data, models
• JavaTM as a global open source interoperable standard for CI tools
• integration of JavaTM with other packages
• research into new software tools in the CI
• CI software tools that support other scientific/engineering computing, such as (but not limited to) biological and biomedical systems, safety and security of large interconnected systems, financial and economic systems, health care systems
• developing standards for CI software and data
• opening computing resources in CI to the general public, particularly to K-12 students and math and science teachers
• interactive virtual learning approach in CI for non-specialist
• legal, security and other open issues of sharing resources
